When LinguaBrowse is given permission to run (in the Safari "Extensions" preferences tab), just like other Safari App Extensions, it can read the content of all web pages, which means it may read sensitive information, such as passwords, phone numbers, and credit cards. LinguaBrowse. However, LinguaBrowse does not purposely process this information in any way.
When LinguaBrowse is enabled for a web page (or domain of a website), it processes all the content of the page, running linguistics tools over any text encountered. This processing continues as the page updates, unless LinguaBrowse is disabled at the time, which can be configured in the LinguaBrowse popup in the Safari toolbar. The linguistics tools used in text processing run entirely on the client-side, so the content of the page is not transmitted to another party in this procedure. Limited page content (i.e. individual words) may be transmitted to another party, however, when using the click-to-define feature – see the "Data transmitted by LinguaBrowse" section for full details.

In order to look up words that the user defines, LinguaBrowse may make a request to a backend service (currently glosbe.com), transmitting the user-relevant information: the search term; the language to study; the language in which to display definitions; and the user agent string. As a result of making the request, the user's IP address may also be transmitted. This communication may therefore be personally identifying. To disable dictionary lookup, You can toggle "Click to define" to off position in the LinguaBrowse popup in Safari's toolbar.
