LinguaBrowse may store the following user data:
This data is not personally identifying, and is not transmitted to any third parties (with the technical exception of Apple, for the aforementioned storage of any data to iCloud in order to allow syncing it across Your iOS devices); LinguaBrowse is purely monetised by In-App Purchases. The data may be deleted by uninstalling LinguaBrowse; reinstall may result in reset of these details.
With consent from the user, LinguaBrowse may collect analytics on feature usage (e.g. which language pairs are in use; whether the functionalities for adjusting font size, toggling transciptions, or disabling links, are commonly used; and more) in order to improve LinguaBrowse by focusing feature development on more popularly-used features. That is to say, only data useful to developing improvements to LinguaBrowse functionality will be collected.
If analytics data collection is consented to, LinguaBrowse may submit such data over HTTPS to a private server, either on the home network of the developer (Jamie Birch) or on a remote, commercial server managed by him. Data will be processed anonymously and may be compiled into visualisations (e.g. graphs and charts) in aggregate (i.e. once data points exceed a reasonable threshold, so as to preserve anonymity) to be shared in reports for the interest of users regarding the future roadmap of LinguaBrowse development.
Raw analytics data will be discarded after 24 months, but processed data (such as graphs of aggregated data from many users) may remain online indefinitely. Users may request a copy of the analytics data stored, or deletion of it, by following the instructions in-app in the Configure menu (this will become applicable from the first version that analytics collection is implemented). In order to facilitate these requests, an anonymous Universally Unique ID may be generated (again, only in the case of opt-in to analytics data collection), likely using the following standard iOS API or something similar to it.
